Oh and right now I am in Ethiopia, and am required to do another blog as a part of my task assignment. You can check that out Journey in Jimma

Don't Worry Be Happy Leaf (Flattened Edition)

I like this one even better. Does anyone how to preserve leaves for an extended amount of time?

Don't Worry be happy Leaf

I found this fellow walking back from a soccer game. Isn't it super? What a happy little sugar maple leaf (note the U-shaped sinus)

Friday - Royal Fever

This is the t-shirt design for College Royal done by my wonderful friend Tisha Oickle. It looks super and the shirts sold unbelievably well!

Farmers Olympics

This is one of my friend Brianna Sinclaire who participated in the milking chugging competition in the NSAC SU - College Royal - Farmers Olympics. Standing next to the appropriately named 'puke barrel'

Seeds

Isn't this a beautiful way of seed alignment? This is a Chinese ornamental grass, not sure of the exact name.

Dichotomous Monotonous Tuesday

You know how it can be sometimes.

Monday - Collection

This insect collection is going to be the end of me... so much pinning, so much gluing, so much reading.

Sunday - A dragonfly the size of a dog

I received a text from my friend Kaleigh Friday, saying there was 'a dragonfly the size of a dog outside, and that she almost caught it but was scared it would bite her'. We had a frost that night, and Kale found it again the next morning. She's been drying off, and will make a perfect addition to my insect collection.

What a beautiful tattoo

I keep meaning to take a photo of my friend Stephanie's tattoo, I took this one last night. I think it's pretty nifty.

Friday - Baby Rat

Even rat-haters would like this baby rat. :)

Storms a brewin'

I'm getting awfully sick of all this rain. Of course, I would have had my camera for the storm clouds but not for the giant rainbow that appeared afterwards.

INTERNATIONAL SUIT UP DAY

My friend Mark and I are celebrating an important event "International Suit Up Day" which is something sprung off the television series 'How I met your Mother'. It was pretty funny sporting a full suit to classes, had a lot of "Why's" but was super great. Only one more year until the next ISU day! Photo credit to Vicki McIntosh

Tuesday - Horticulture is Great

I've been admiring the autumn flowers around campus since I've returned for the school year. This is my favourite combination, it's outside of Cox Institute. I think it's some sort of fall mum. It's really quite beautiful.

Back to the AC

Had a great weekend visiting at home, but back now to do a bit of studying and get back into the swing of things. When I got back, the aquarium I picked up and filled with soil began sprouting up with lots of beautiful little plants. I hope they grow and I get to see what they are. What a nice surprise.

Stormy Seas

A high wind coming in from the west, full moon and Scot's Bay is a recipe for a messy stormy day the beach. Check it out

Blomidon

This is one of my favourite places in the whole world, a place I associate strongly with being home.

Ethanol

I perserved a dead dragonfly I found on my way back from work one time in a jar of ethanol. I took him out Friday to see if he was in any decent shape to put into my insect collection. He'll be a lovely addition. Check out her perfect wings!

College Royal

College Royal is quickly approaching. I designed a poster for a country formal dance, with a girl down the hall wearing a dress and steel toes. I think it looks pretty neat.

Beautiful Light

This is just another example of wonderful Truro light. I am voting Truro as the best place for evening light, it's a pity there isn't too much in the way of interesting foreground.

Tuesdays are for Gourds shaped like Geese and 1/3 rules

This is a beautiful gourd Mum and Dad sent down for me last weekend. I think it looks almost identical to a goose.

Fallen Pods

My poor little fly trap had to have a pod taken off, as it was beginning to die. It did however make a beautiful shadow.

Venus Fly Trap

Mum brought me a plant as a gift today, and I love it. It ate a grasshopper that I fed it (cool)

Jacq and Sunlight

This is my friend Kaleigh's good friend from home. Her hair is effective at capturing sunlight.

Great Person

These are my friends Rebecca and Mark. Rebecca was all dressed up and planning on going out to a party and a bar, but then she agreed to take another friends shift , because she was having a rough day.

Badass Blueberry Truck

The plate on the front says 'Nova Scotia Wild Blueberries"
Vroom, Vroom, Vroom

Wednesday

Found my first snake on campus, he was quite beautiful but very vicious.

Tuesday - Clean Your Boards

Last year, some friends from school advertised a party on the board in a computer lab. A year later it was still there.

Hali

Nathan and I went to Halifax to meet with the minister of Education. We had a decent time, though I missed four lectures.

Mecoptera, Siphonoptera

These are my homemade cue cards for learning important insect orders. So much fun to make, not so much fun to learn.
